Welcome to StarMate — the dating app that helps you align not just hearts, but stars. We know privacy policies aren’t exactly the stuff of romance, but we promise to keep it clear, transparent, and as engaging as humanly (and cosmically) possible.

1. Who We Are

Registered in the State of Delaware, USA.
This Privacy Policy applies to StarMate App LLC (“StarMate”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) and all digital platforms, applications, events, and services operated under the StarMate brand (collectively referred to as the “Service”).

2. Where This Policy Applies
This Privacy Policy applies to all StarMate experiences — including our iOS and Android apps, official website, events, and digital promotions.
If any of our services ever require their own unique privacy rules (like new AI-powered features or third-party integrations), we’ll post those separately — and they’ll override this general policy for that specific service.
3. Data We Collect
We can’t help you find cosmic-level connections without collecting a little stardust — a.k.a. data. Here’s what we collect and why:
A. Data You Provide

| Profile Data | You can share your gender, photos, bio, preferences, and astrological details. Some data might be considered sensitive (e.g., sexual orientation, beliefs, or health information). Providing this info is always optional — but helps us match your cosmic frequency. |
| Content | Messages, photos, audio, and videos you upload or send via chat or story features. |
| Purchase Data | When you buy premium features (like Cosmic Boosts or Astro Insights), we store transaction data — date, price, item — and your payment provider’s info (Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.). |
| Survey & Research Data | Occasionally, we may ask for feedback or offer participation in focus groups or promotions. |
| Customer Support Data | Any information you share when contacting our support team — including screenshots or reports. |
B. Data We Collect Automatically

We use your data to make your StarMate experience magical — safely and responsibly.

Your data might travel through our orbit — but only where necessary and always safely.

- Other Members: Limited profile details that you choose to make public.

- Advertising Partners: For relevant ad experiences (you can opt out anytime).
- Law Enforcement or Regulators: When required by law or to protect user safety.
- Business Transfers: In case of mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring, your data may be transferred as part of the transaction.
We do not sell your personal data. Ever.
6. How StarMate Works with AI
Our matching and prediction systems use machine learning to:
- Analyze astrological patterns and user interactions
- Improve compatibility scores and communication suggestions
- Detect and prevent spam, fake accounts, and unsafe behavior
We never make automated decisions with legal or significant effects without human review.
7. Cross-Border Data Transfers
StarMate operates globally. Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries that may have different privacy laws.
When transferring data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards like Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent mechanisms.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access your data
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and related data
- Withdraw consent to certain processing
- Opt out of marketing or targeted ads

If you’re a U.S. resident, you can also opt out of targeted advertising or sharing under applicable state privacy laws.
9. How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep your data only as long as necessary for our legitimate business needs and to comply with legal obligations.
- Inactive accounts are automatically deleted after 24 months.
- After account closure, we retain limited data for up to 3 months for safety and fraud prevention.
- Purchase and payment records are retained for up to 10 years to comply with tax and accounting regulations.
- Aggregated or anonymized data (which can’t identify you) may be kept for research and product improvement.
10. Children’s Privacy
StarMate is a universe for adults (18+).
We don’t knowingly allow minors to register.
If you believe someone under 18 is using StarMate, please report it via the in-app feature or at privacy@starmate.app.
11. Changes to This Policy
The cosmos changes — and sometimes our policies do too.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect new features, legal requirements, or best practices.
We’ll notify you before major updates so you can review and stay informed.
